Editorial Reviews

Brass Construction were formed on the East Coast of America in the 1970's. Led by Randy Muller they mixed hard funk with Big Band Jazz and Caribbean beats to create much loved dance floor tracks. In 1975 they signed to United Artists and released their debut album and from this, they released the first of their dance floor anthems, Movin' which topped the US R&B chart and was a Pop top 20 hit. This was quickly followed by Changin', from the same album. 'Ha Cha Cha (Funktion)' also included in this collection, was released in 1977 and achieved similar commercial success. Later releases did not see the commercial success of the earlier singles but Brass Construction were a popular disco band with success on the dance floors of the UK and America. Every track is the full, extended version and as with all Something For The Weekend collections, all tracks are classics from soul weekenders. EMI. 2006.
