But when his neighbor Simon is hospitalized Melvin is forced to babysit Simon's dog. The great cast make this movie genuinely outstanding. Nicholson and Hunt, in particular, are truly superb. The script is well crafted and, at the end, one is aware that one has viewed a hugely entertaining film.
