The album is good on its own, it's very relaxing, and perfectly evokes the part in the movie where Erica was doing her writing and Harry was around.. It would've been REALLY great if it had included all the contemporary songs like Paul Simon's "Learn How to Fall", the Krazytown song "Butterfly" and Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning", Earth Wind and Fire's "Sing a Song". And the song someone here was looking for is really titled "Boum Boum", sung by Charles Trenet. All the more contemporary songs weren't in the album, so disappointing! I hope they decide to release another soundtrack to the album, with all the missing songs.

I wonder why some Americans don't appreciate this
kind of CD too much.
I was a Japanese tourist to NYC visiting a friend,
watched this movie there and bought this CD at
"Banes&nobles", a big shop. Back in Japan I'm playing
this CD during dinner telling my parents "This is
American love songs in a little French taste", that's
making their dinner like a dinner in the heaven!
65 father get romantic with 63 mother having Japanese
food and sake listening to this CD. so it works for
you too! They even didn't watch this movie! Very very
good movie music. You can have Louis Armstrong and
Jack Nicholson singing the same song "LA VIE EN ROSE"
very New York! NYC is always good at adopting different
culture this time adopting French works good on this CD.
I'm very much happy having this CD.

"La Vie En Rose"
Beautiful Words and Music by Louiguy, Edith Piaf and Mack David

"Quand il me prend dans ses bras
Il me parle tout bas
Je vois la vie en rose
Il me dit des mots d'amour
Des mots de tous les jours
Et ca m'fait quelque chose

Il est entré dans mon coeur
Une part de bonheur
Dont je connais la cause
C'est lui pour moi
Moi pour lui dans la vie
Il me l'a dit l'a juré
Pour la vie

Et dès que je l'apercois
Alors je sens en moi
Mon coeur qui bat"

I have enjoyed the movie "Something's Gotta Give" as much as I enjoy listening to this original movie soundtrack. The movie is very entertaining and this soundtrack is such a delight to listen to. I gave a copy to my beauty and brains sister, a great and caring Physician who paints as a hobby, has taken French lessons, can speak conversational French and can sing "La Vie En Rose" in French. We both love this soundtrack and I dedicate this review to her.

The 14 tracks are all wonderful and so pleasing and entertaining. Louie Armstrong opens this gorgeous presentation with an English version of our all-time favorite song "La Vie En Rose" followed by Steve Tyrell's outstanding rendition of a Gershwin gem, beautiful and timeless "I've Got A Crush On You." Astrud Gilberto's mysteriously alluring voice can be heard in "So Nice" (Summer Samba).

Let The Flamingos enfold you with a sense of nostalgia as they sing a charming version of "I Only Have Eyes For You." Eartha Kitt will dazzle you as she delivers my sister's favorite songs "Je Cherche Un Homme" and "C'est Si Bon." And ditto with Charles Trénet's "Que Reste-T'il Nos Amour" and Les Escrocs' performance of "Assedic.

I noticed that a lot of people were wanting to know what the name of the opening rap song was. It's "Butterfly" by Crazy Town. It's a great song (one of my faves)and I hope this helps!
The movie was good and I thought that it had a great soundtrack, but I'm disappointed that they left that song off of the soudtrack.

Great soundtrack, but I do wish that more of the songs from the movie were included . . . Jimmy Cliff's You Can Get It If You Really Want, Maroon 5's song, Crazy Town's Butterfly, and isn't that Earth Wind & Fire's Sing A Song playing at the very beginning while Harry & Marin are driving to the Hamptons?

I loved the soundtrack (the French songs were GREAT), however Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning" (the song playing when Keanu Reeves is eating @ the dinner table with Diane Keaton (Erica) and her sister) and Paul Simon's "Learn How To Fall" songs were not included--the songs included on there, however, were great! I will be buying the soundtrack to "Love Actually"--does anybody know if the entire song "Sunday Morning" is on there? It looks as though it's a medley or a mix...just wondering!

This CD is sooo romantic. It contains a number of cuts in French, such as, C'est Si Bon song by the purrrring Eartha Kitt and Je Cherche un Homme, also by Eartha Kitt. La Vie en Rose by Louis Armstrong and others. I enjoyed the romantic melody by Astrud Gilberto and" I only have Eyes for You; an old tune by the Flamingos. I would have given this CD 5 stars but it was marred by Jack Nicholson singing his version of La Vie en Rose. Now why did that have to be on this CD? There was a lovely song entitled "Julian Comes" (I think that was the name of it) that I would have rather have had on this CD instead of Jack's poor voice. So, 4 stars it is. Nevertheless, it is still very enjoyable. I have played this CD over and over again.

You might be thinking of Sunday Morning? It's by Maroon 5.
