5.0 out of 5 stars True stories, September 11, 2011
This review is from: Sometimes God Has a Kid's Face (Paperback)
I was working as a teacher at a juvenile detention center when I read this book. I could have added to those stories with the ones that I was told by the juveniles locked up there. Eighty percent of the children locked up should not be there. Their parents or another adult should be there in their place. People would ask me how I could work with "Bad" kids. I would tell them they are not "bad" kids, they are kids with bad luck.
I am not a religious person but I know that it is true; sometimes God (or what/whom ever you believe in) can be seen in a child's face.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent authority on abused teenager's lives in the streets, July 4, 2005
I had bought this book years ago, but lost it to water damage. The book is so compelling that I felt I should replace it. It puts you directly into each scene with total realism and no apologies. By the end of the book, I felt like I was Bruce feeling an empty space in my heart and soul for each and every lost teenager. Although the book stops there, life doesn't promise happiness for everyone, only experiences and the rich warm love of the heavenly father upon returning to heaven.
