Mmmm.... the great Hoagy. One of the greatest songwriters of the 20th Century, without a doubt. A marvelous piano-player.Not always so great a singer, as several of these recordings relate. Hoagy has a hard time finding the key sometimes. Good recordings, good overview, although I wish they'd included his first instrumental recording of "Stardust" as well as the piano/vocal version here. |
