5.0 out of 5 stars amazing, October 20, 2010
This review is from: Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega (Audio CD)
i cannot get over this band and this cd. they're not songs: they're stories. there's a theme of marriage, fear, enduring friendship, and love throughout the disc. each song is worthy of reading the lyrics over and over. i cannot stop listening to this cd and being "wow"'d by the lyrics and the guitar and the haunting rhythms.
sonically, it's a little bit thursday and a little bit modern life is war, but these guys are doing something unto themselves entirely and deserve any and more recognition they come across.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Find, similar to MeWithoutYou, September 24, 2009
This review is from: Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega (Audio CD)
This CD has a great vibe to it. The music itself changes up the genres so much it is almost impossible to give them a certain genre. Everything from "Indie" rock to hardcore/progressive/post-hardcore. I even heard a little bit of "groove" rock in there as well. To make this album even more special comes from the lyrics. These are very poetic and creative lyrics that the only way I can describe the way the singer conveys his message is to compare him to Aaron Weiss from MeWithoutYou. He does not really have a singing voice per se, but definitely owns a presence all his own. Great CD, for fans of MeWithoutYou or anyone who wants to hear "screamo" original again instead of just a collection of heavy breakdowns and meaningless lyrics.

Who knows what crap counts for "screamo" these days. Ignore the boundaries of genres and give this a chance. It's basically flawless.

I hated the vocals of this band initially but they grew on me and i wouldn't have it any other way now, lyrics are brilliantly written and I strongly recommend this album to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT ALBUM, April 27, 2011
This album is so good. I seriously cannot stop listening to it. You will be addicted to his voice from the first song on. If anything the only bad part about this album is when it is over. 10 of the songs are in my top 25 most played on iTunes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic album., February 7, 2011

Love the raw emotion and smart lyrics. Also, in a day where guitars are usually relegated to the background, it's great to hear riffs brought to the forefront. This band defies any label you would put on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT FRIKIN ALBUM!!!, October 14, 2010
They definitely set themselves apart with a blend of blues, post-hardcore and spoken word influences. The lyrics will stay with you for days and days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy balls., December 30, 2009
This review is from: Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega (Audio CD)
2 weeks ago I had never even heard of La Dispute, and when I finally did stumble upon this album on [...] it totally took me by surprise. This entire cd is work of art from beginning to end, containing some of the most brilliant and intricate lyrics ive ever. The lyrics sounds like they came from a diary of his as each song is filled with numerous emotions. The vocals on this cd may not be what you would call great, but the emotions felt within the music through each scream are tough to match. If you like one song on this cd then go buy it, odds are you'll love the whole thing.
