This beautiful collection of classic loves songs brings the natural world to life on CD format. Never before have I heard such beauty in these songs!! Dan Gibson is a clever artist who knows what the audience wants in their hearts and souls. He lovingly records nature sounds, such as streams, bird song, rain etc... and uses them to empathise with modern music. Tracks such as 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' made popular in the film 'The Wizard of Oz' and then again by Eva Cassidy, bring harmony to the world for even just a few minutes. The orchestral version of 'My heart will go on' (also sung beautifully by pop diva Celine Dion) has always been one of my favourite pieces. Here it is brought to whole new boundaries. The way the sounds band together get into your very heart and existence. You feel one with nature and at times the universe itself.
When I went on a class trip to Scarborough, there were nights when the other guests at the hotel were being particularly rowdy and unbearable to hear when one is trying to get a decent night's sleep. This CD changed my mood and allowed that much needed rest and eventually sleep. And it also helped my friend in the same way at the time. It soothes you into a different person, bringing your soul to a place you feel safe. And woe is a thing to be forgotten.
A couple of years later, I contracted cancer and was again of need for some soothing and much needed rest. Therefore, I reached for Dan Gibson again. This CD in fact changed my outlook on life. It made me want to try. It made me want to head forward in life and expereince things I never thought I'd do. And it helped me become the person I am today. I am eternally grateful to Dan Gibson and his work. Therefore, I hope you'll find this piece of natural, fantastically composed piece art as inspiring as I have and still do (I guarantee you will). purchased this solely for over the rainbow. the most beautiful rendition i've ever heard. not a bad song on the disk. even twinkle twinkle little star...amazing.

I try to buy everything Dan Gibson has done with Atila Fias. This combination is too good for words. Gibson's wonderful touch with sound and Fias' relaxed unhurried hand with the piano keys. There is just no way you won't relax! I have one in my car cd changer at all times! This is a favorite. Also Moon River! How about more of these guys?
