The Best Thing Dino's Ever Done!!!, February 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Somewhere in Time (Audio CD)
I wish that I could give this album 10 stars! Though Amazon.com says that this album was released in 1998, unless it's been re-released, I've had it for several years. I am a pianist myself, who plays a lot of Dino material, and I own about 15 to 20 of his albums. Out of all of them, this is the best. I believe this was his first collaboration with David T. Clydesdale, and the combination of Dino's piano artistry and Clydesdale's amazingly dynamic and majestic arrangements are unbeatable. This album has a beautiful blend of Classical, Christian, and Pop music. The medley of "Unchained Melody, Everything I Do, I Do For You, and Unforgettable" is truly one of the most beautiful tracks that Dino has ever recorded, and of course unforgettable! The theme from "Somewhere In Time" is unbelievably beautiful, and the arrangements of "That's What Love Is For" and "From A Distance" are beautiful, yet dynamic. I never cared for "From A Distance", before I heard Dino's version of it. Then, of course there are the Christian songs like the Majestic "Behold The Lamb" which makes my hair stand on end towards the end of it and gives me goose bumps. (It's also probably my favorite Dino song to play on the piano)! And, the hauntingly beautiful "Beneath The Cross Medley". All in all, I just can't say enough about this album. If you love piano music, especially Christian piano music, or piano music with orchestated backgrounds, you can't go wrong with this CD. And, though he and David Clydesdale are extremely talented, I don't believe they will ever be able to top this project!

Brilliant!, May 7, 2002

I have been a Dino fan for many years. I would like to tell all of the teenagers who read this that you are missing out if you think this kind of music is only for old people. I am 18 and I also play (or try to play) his songs on the piano. The quality and beauty of these songs is like nothing you probably have ever heard. He is a Julliard trained pianist and has amazing talent. My favorite songs were From A Distance, Streets of Gold, and Piano Concerto in A Minor. Words really don't do the music justice. Buy the CD and you won't be disappointed!
