5.0 out of 5 stars ¡Cordero es Impresionante!, April 19, 2004

This review is from: Somos Cordero (Audio CD)
Cordero's new release, "Somos Cordero", is impressive! I saw Cordero live, for the first time, in Austin on April 16th, 2004 when they opened for the Indigo Girls. After hearing them play live I bought the CD right then and there! It's hard to classify Cordero into a particular genre. Some of the songs make you want to jam (Had You Fallen Away), others dance (Soltera, Nacimiento, Emiliano y Jovita), and yet others (These Quiet Nights) are dreamy and introspective. Cordero somehow fuses Latin, Pop, Indi, and Rock in one package.

I haven't taken "Somos Cordero" out of my CD player all weekend (except to transfer between home, car, and office). I would highly recommend getting out to see Cordero play live (wear your dancing shoes). If you can't do that, the next best thing is this CD. I look forward to obtaining their previous releases and anxiously await their future projects. A big thanks and congratulations to Daemon Records for signing this band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Impressive, December 12, 2005
This review is from: Somos Cordero (Audio CD)
I saw them live opening for Yerba Buena in Washington DC and they surely changed my idea of what music I truly like. Much like other reviewers have mentioned, their spectrum is quite wide, going from the high energy to the ballad-like sounds. I'm certainly a new fan and intend to remain so for quite a long time!!! Support the band and buy their CDs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another stunner, March 9, 2004

Cordero's 2nd release (via Daemon) outshines Lamb Lost in the City. The songs are crisper, dancing on the border of rock with only a few jaunts toward the ballad end of the spectrum. The weaving of the tracks beckons you to get up and just move with the rhythm. This band is able to successfully cross the bilingual barriers and offer what can only be summed up as a very solid CD.

I saw and heard Cordero for the first time when they opened for the Indigo Girls 3/7/04 in Norfolk. I was so impressed I bought this CD the day after its release. I love it and highly recommend it. It's got a great beat, Ani has a beautiful voice, and it's just different from anything else I've heard out there. I'm grateful to the Indigo Girls for the introduction!
