Book Description

1998
Fr. Men's major work on the history and outlines of Christianity. Written over a period of 40 years, as part of an 8-volume series on the HIstory of Religion. Christ's life described through the Gospels and Epistles, and the wealth of insight and knowledge of a contemporary Russian theologian. By far an 'amazing new' telling of Christ by an amazing man.

5.0 out of 5 stars Son of Man:The Story of Christ and Christianity May 4, 2008
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I initially gave a copy to a dear friend a Trappist Monk, who believes this is one of the finest books he has read on Christ(my friend in his 80s,been a Monk 50 yrs). I have provided him with over 40 of this book so he can pass on to those he believes will benefit. Well written without the typical pious, theologically steeped language,in other words matter of fact. It presents the situation or world at Christ's time in clear detail. Just a very good book. I should add my friend received the Silver Star for his actions at the Battle of Leyte Gulf so he has seen life from many perspectives.

Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome review of the life of Jesus August 3, 2004
Format:Paperback
A truly remarkable writer. I especially appreciated the thorough research into biblical facts as well as Jewish and Roman history. He went to great lengths to explain things even using non-biblical accounts. Very interesting.
