Sonar 5 Video Tutorial

I had heard good things about this course in the Cakewalk forums, and decided to give it a try. I've been using Sonar for almost two years now, and this course showed me how much I was missing. If you're already a Sonar user, the first section is a bit of a review. However, what I really liked about this course was the examples. I took another video music software course, and it spent a lot of time showing you how to turn the knobs. This one puts everything into context with example projects on basic mixing, mastering, midi and loops. Although I think the course covers Sonar quite thoroughly, it is probably not a course for tweakheads. It is pretty clearly oriented towards musicians.

I cant complain too much, as this cd came with Sonar 5 as a promotional deal, but I would personally avoid purchasing it. It has a short series of ~8min flash videos that give a very brief overview of the product, as it barely skims the surface of the main features. Consider it an audi version of reading the back of the box.

Furthermore, I am not sure why they use audio examples that would not have been fit for one of the beverlyhills cop movies, let alone contemporary music production. In my opinion, save your money.
