If you own or you are planning on purchasing CakeWalk's Sonar, Then this book is a must. After a few weeks of trying to get around in my new Cakewalk Sonar6 Producer Edition, I was having trouble. Then a friend told me about the book, Sonar6 Power!... It made life easy getting around and performing the tasks that I needed. This book gives an in-depth detail of Sonar and made my recordings so much easier and better. I'm a person who don't like to read(a hands on type of guy) but I soon realized the value of reading this book...Just prepare to do some reading, page marking and playing around with the examples it gives. You'll be recording some pro sessions before you know it......it's worth it!

Scott Garrigus' books contain a lot of helpful information that you cannot find by simply reading the online guides alone. If you own a version of Sonar, you should also consider purchasing the version of Scott's book to match. You won't be disappointed, and in fact it may save you a lot of frustration trying to figure something out on your own.

Very good book but always I come across something that is missing.
For example, when you have many tracks and non of the tracks is clipping, the sum all all tracks can clip the master. For quality of recording it's better to take down all the tracks than take down from the master. Such a basic information has been missing in all pervious Sonar Power books.
But the book is good place to start, you will learn all the basics you need to run Sonar efficiently. What I really like about the book is that all the featurs you can learn in example tutorials, very good!!

A great source of information for sonar 6, I am not that savvy with computers and software, but this book is an easy read and explains things so I can understand.

Purchasing this book was possibly the best move I could have done for my recording situation. Coming from years of traditional jaunts in the analog domain and delving for the first time into the digital field was a bit daunting for me. This book takes the Sonar 6 program and thoroughly explains it in a clear and consise manner. That is not to say the word childlike, as I am no child when it comes to engineering recordings. Rather, having a guide, like this book, to tell you what to do with the program when you are attempting to achieve this or that was truely enlightening in a way that was very refreshing.

Although I have not read the entire book at this time, it has already filled in some gaps that the help files did not cover, not to mention having the index available to quickly go to a topic I had a question on while learning the program. If you are not completely comfortable with Sonar6pe, this book will go a long way in helping to achieve that goal.

This is the book that CAKEWALK TECH reccomends as the most comphrehensive view of thier SONAR 6 system. I'd read this first, it makes the user manual simple afterwords. The THOMSON COURSE TECH books on AUDIO systems are arguably the best all around collection and , again, arguably, the Garrigus is the best of the THOMSON library. Garrigus's book also is linked to his own large web page with forums, access to Garrigus, downloadable tutorials and demos applied to the book. Know that the book has been updated and you'll have to download the next 4 chapters from THOMSON, but it's a free d.l. and keeps the book current. If you couplke this book with PAUL GILREATHS "THE ART OF MIDI ORCHESTRATION 3rd edition, you'll be pretty well set-up. Avery good ,mostly easy to read manual

This is the manual that should have come with the software.
I would definitely recommend this for any Sonar 6 user.

This book saved me so much grief. The Sonar manual is just O.K. Scott's book fills in all the minute details in a simple, easy to read reference.

I always like the way Scott Garrigus presents his information and how he covers what Sonar missed and this book is no exception. I keep it close by when working in Sonar and even thumb through it when sitting in the living room. Excellent buy!
