Candy is a singer and in love with John Ryland, but John is like the old 'mama & papa's song' I saw her again last night, if you don't know the words look them up on the web.
Anyway John falls for a famous Italian star, and he leaves Candy in the dust without a back-wards look.
In steps Count Michele di Lucca, he is dying, but when he meets Candy he finds a wonderful shining star.
John comes back after finding his love for the Counts mama isn't returned, in fact Contessa di Lucca (Anna Landi) doesn't care for anyone including herself. Until she finds out her son Michele is ill. She is sure Michele hates her.
Michele makes life great for Candy by getting her hooked up with a voice teacher, and gets her a push into opera.
Candy makes it to the lead role in an opera and then she finds out Michele is about to have an operation, from his mother.
They go to the clinic where Michele is and he knows even if he dies Candy loves him.
