October 2007 re-release of the classic album that won the New Zealand album of the year award for 1974. After J.D. bought back the rights to this album it was issued on CD in 1994 on the Sisapa Record Co. label but with different cover art than the original U.S. album. Here, it is re-issued with cover artwork that more closely resembles the original U.S. cover art and has the 20 minute live version of "The Song Of Crazy Horse", taken from "Live In St. Louis-July 16th, 1982", added as a 20 minute bonus track. "The Song Of Crazy Horse" is still revered as one of the all time classic stories ever put to music and is a 20 minute tribute to the life of the famous Ogalala Sioux Chief. This CD comes to you direct from J.D. Blackfoot and will be autographed.

I can't believe that no one else has reviewed this album! The Song of Crazy Horse is a powerful and moving rock ballad! This and "The Ultimate Prophecy" are must haves for any well rounded music collection. Not everyone is familiar with The Song of Crazy Horse because it is a long song that many radio stations just could not find the time to play. I was lucky enough to grow up in St. Louis listening to KSHE radio where this was revered as the masterpiece that it is!

I also am surprised that more reviews have not been created. Thanks to a friend in college (1981), I heard the work of JD Blackfoot. The Song of Crazy Horse is top flight musicianship and song writing. This album and the Ultimate Prophecy, not to mention other works, are a must have, for any music collection. KSHE, a radio station in St Louis, was responsible in part for the great popularity of JD's work in that area (and beyond). An amazing story in itself. One of my favorite albums. Highly recommended.
