I can't believe that no one else has reviewed this album! The Song of Crazy Horse is a powerful and moving rock ballad! This and "The Ultimate Prophecy" are must haves for any well rounded music collection. Not everyone is familiar with The Song of Crazy Horse because it is a long song that many radio stations just could not find the time to play. I was lucky enough to grow up in St. Louis listening to KSHE radio where this was revered as the masterpiece that it is!

I also am surprised that more reviews have not been created. Thanks to a friend in college (1981), I heard the work of JD Blackfoot. The Song of Crazy Horse is top flight musicianship and song writing. This album and the Ultimate Prophecy, not to mention other works, are a must have, for any music collection. KSHE, a radio station in St Louis, was responsible in part for the great popularity of JD's work in that area (and beyond). An amazing story in itself. One of my favorite albums. Highly recommended.

I purchased this CD solely for The Song Of Crazy Horse. I enjoy that long, long song but do not truly enjoy the rest of the album

What can I say but the song of Crazy Horse is a classic. The recording is perfect and clear. Love songs that tell stories for a change and this one is no exception. Worth the money. Thanks JD for remembering Crazy Horse.

Thank you JD. I remember listening to the Song of Crazy Horse on vinly back in high school. The Song of Crazy Horse is an ageless classic that my two teenage daughters now enjoy listening to. The song is a classic history lesson that needs to be told. JD's voice and the instrumentals on this CD are just amazing. Although I bought the CD for The title track the other songs are also great to listen too. I highly recommend this CD to any music lover or history buff.

I was so thrilled to find this CD! I was told about it by a Dear Native American friend and she suggested that I might like it. I LOVE IT! The bonus was purchasing directly from the artist! I thank you JD Blackfoot, and honor you! A-Ho!

What a joy to listen to this album on CD! I'd forgotten just how moving the title track is for me - a tour de force composition and performance that gets me choked up every time. It's a hauntingly beautiful song with a powerful message. The rest of the original album tracks include some honky tonk-style rock, softer, slower songs, and even some humor. Just some good, solid music all around. The bonus live version of Crazy Horse is a great addition - wish I could have been at that performance! It's fitting that it was recorded in St Louis in the early 1980's - as my first exposure to JD Blackfoot music was through K-SHE 95 when I was in college in the area at that time.

The sound quality of this disc is great, and the autograph was right on the cover as promised.

I owned the LP from the mid 70's until I sold my collection 20 years later and I would not be exaggerating to say that I listened to side 1 hundreds of times. The music is beautifully arranged and the lyrics appropriately follow the plight of native Americans in the second half of the 19th century. " The Song of Crazy Horse" flows without becoming tedious and the vocals are clear. Sit quietly and enjoy. A masterpiece.
