3.0 out of 5 stars Poor pressing mars a classic album. June 4, 2014
Format:Vinyl|Verified Purchase
I ordered this album to replace the same title that I bought in 1965. The music is great, but the new pressing is not so great.
My original Lp suffered from too many ticks and pops from the time it was new. Also it was pressed slightly off center. I placed the new Lp on the turntable and started listening. Even after cleaning, there were plenty of ticks and pops on the new pressing. In addition, there is a nearly constant surface noise. The sound seems to be equalized different. The highs are attenuated and the bass has been boosted slghtly compaired to the original. The playback level is also lower.
If it wasn't for the above problems I would give it five stars. For the price, I'll stick with the 1965 pressing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Jazz Album, sounds great. October 14, 2014
By I. Inc
Format:Vinyl|Verified Purchase
A Jazz Classic. This is classic jazz performed by a great session lineup. The LP sounds great, especially using a Grado silver needle. The sound on the album is full, not thin, and is quite pleasing with "Tone Defeat" switched on. (Tone Defeat bypasses parts of the preamp in your receiver, minimizing sound coloration)

If you like Jazz, you should have this. Period.
