5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Lovers of Tiki or Traditional Hawaiian Music, January 12, 2012

This review is from: Song of the Islands (Audio CD)
Wow, this is a nice reissue. Beautifully packaged (as are most of these Japanese reissues) limited edition CD release of the 1956 album, originally on Coral Records. In a cardboard sleeve "mini-album" with original artwork and rear liner notes, and a new (I assume) 6-page insert (in Japanese).

This is one of my favorites...a great Hawaiian album, very traditional with lots of steel guitar. (of course!)

From the back cover: When not performing, Danny Stewart is a sportsman. He states that his favorite sports are (in the following order) deep-sea fishing, swimming, and golfing. In 1949 he won the Spike Wallace Championship Trophy in the Local #47 Los Angeles Musician golf Club Tournament.

Who knew! He also made great records.
