Pocket full of Rocks,

I'm a "pagan"- and I do not identify myself as christian, however there is some music that makes my soul sing, and Pocket full of Rocks has allowed me to experience this, in this music, there is a joy that comes with knowing that in music, in song, I am 'giving praise' to all that is God- all that is Spirit- all that is good.
Namaste.

I thought Pocket Full of Rocks outdid themselves on this CD. I enjoyed every song, especially Song to the King. The lyrics are powerful and the music is excellent. It is a must to hear.

The Best Worship CD in years,
This review is from: Song to the King (Audio CD)
The CD "Song to the King" from Texas-based Pocket Full of Rocks is an instantly gratifying album that fills a badly needed hole in the worship genre. Lead singer and songwriter Michael Farren has a powerful voice that lends true conviction and passion to his music. Farren has written popular songs in the past for Michael W Smith and Phillips Craig and Dean.
However, "Song to the King" actually reaches out to a diverse group of fans. Christians who love Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Casting Crowns or Mercy Me will equally enjoy this CD. You will not regret buying this CD by a group who has been praising the Lord since 1995. Share it with a friend. But if you simply let someone borrow it, you won't get it back. This CD is that good.

One of the best CDs to come around in quite a while! The songs are fresh and vibrant, the vocals are powerful and the music will keep you singing along even after the CD is off. Absolutely worth the purchase--this CD will not disappoint. It even comes with chord charts for a few of the songs. I'm already looking forward to the next CD from Pocket Full of Rocks!

Great CD. Great worship/praise. I don't know if their other CD has the song "Let it Rain". It is their best song EVER.

This is a pretty good worship CD. The lyrics are definitely focused on praising the Lord. The vocals and overall sound are good.
Although the message is good, there is nothing particularly unique about it. Many of the phrases in the songs are similar to those of many other artists. It is clear that the band has potential. I believe that this is their debut CD, so they may have more impressive things to come. If you have a lot of praise and worship music, this is not a bad one to get if you want to check out a newer artist. If you don't have a big collection of this genre, there are many other CDs that you may find better.

I have listened to Christian Music for years. I usually figure that I will have to learn to like some cd's because the talent pool for C music is very small comparitively. I tried to get through the whole disc, but stopped it and didn't try again. Take it for what its worth, I just didn't dig their style.
