This review is from: A Song for Little Toad (Paperback)
One of the cutest books I've ever seen! A Song for Little Toad makes me want to get some toads and dress them in outfits! Look at the baby toad with his little pop-eyes in his leaf bassinet! Look at the mother's rapturous singing pose and her apron!

Written by Vivian French and illustrated by Barbara Firth, the book was published in 1995. The story is cute, too--a mother toad is trying to sing her baby to sleep and every animal passing by suggests she change her croaky song to something prettier, like "quack-quack" or "baa-baa," none of which, obviously, does the trick for the baby toad. In the end he asks her to sing her his own song, because, "You have the most beautiful voice in all the whole wide world."
