I was completely blown away be Christina's rendition! I am THE biggest Donny Hathaway fan ever, and I am very sensitive about artists redoing certain songs. A Song For You is one of my all time favorites and I did not expect to be impressed. I fell in love with the song all over again and believe Donny would be extremely pleased to hear Herbie and Christina trully do this piece justice! You go girl!

I love this song and Donny Hathaway's version is, of course, the classic. But after having heard Christina's version twice on XM I can say that I actually laughed out loud many times. I am a professional singer and I hate it when singers do so many "ornamentals" and dance all over the melody that you barely hear a glimpse of the original melody. This is a way over the top showmanship ala "Star Search" rendition, searching for a quick audience clap while she scats all over the place. Typical young singer that tries to sound like everyone else mistake. She possesses a great voice, but doesn't have the maturity or sense of direction yet to actually "sing" a song rather than show us her chops. Ruined the song for me.
