I was so excited to get this, but after hanging it on my window in early spring I hadn't seen any birds even check in out.
Andrea McCormick
Since the birdhouse is suctioned to a window, i think the birds are afraid to fly in and around a window.

We loved this product. No luck the first year because we had the house in the wrong location (sunny and too much people traffic). Finally we found a spot on the north side of the house on a second floor bedroom window that worked the second year. The bird family set up home, preparing the house with sticks. Soon we had 5-6 eggs. We were able to watch the baby birds get feed, etc. We needed to stand very still to watch. Sometimes as we approached the window the parent bird would fly off but would soon come back if we stood like statues and didn't move. Amazing experience! We just purchased our second house and it seems a bit better quality than our last. To clean, simply unscrew back panel, empty and re-screw on panel. The birds all leave the house by middle summer. Highly recommend!

The two suction cups that stick the nest box to the window are screwed to the plexiglass, not the wood. The plexiglass is not strong enough to stand up to the pressure of being stuck to the glass and it cracks. I returned this item in favor of a standard tree-mount nest box that I know will attract birds.

Please keep in mind that birds are not going to nest in a box with a clear view into your house (or near a noisy room or television). Find a very quiet out of the way spot that is away from strong winds or potential bad weather. Keep your blinds completely closed for any chance at attracting nesting birds! A quick peek is okay, but if you completely open the blinds for any length of time, any nesters will surely abandon the box (AND any chicks).

Unfortuneately the suction cups wouldn't even hold the bird box on the window empty (thank goodness no birds ever moved in). It consistently lost suction and fell to the ground and then after going through various weather changes the wood expanded and contracted and the entire thing fell apart. I am left with a bunch of pieces of wood I could put back together with wood glue but then it would just fall off the window again anyhow so why bother?

A neat idea & concept, but the birdhouse does not attract the birds..Since the birdhouse is suctioned to a window, i think the birds are afraid to fly in and around a window. So, our birdhouse is vacant! A waste of money.

I ordered two- both fell off the windows in a short period of time
No birds. And I have many bird feeders and lots of activity around the feeders
Not worth the money

The kids love this bird house. However it must be put in a window where the birds can't see you. After several false starts we found the perfect window up high out of the way

I'm purchasing a second birdhouse today. This product was a great success at our home, we put it up and a family of Eastern Bluebirds moved in relatively soon after. They would sometimes sit on top of it and peck at the glass, (their reflection?) but no harm done. We had it on a second story window and it remained secure. It was neat seeing the eggs and chicks and eventually having them move out.

We've had the nest view birdhouse for about six months...the bluebirds have finally discovered it and are are "checking it out" right now. We have two other bluebird houses up that are occupied, so hopefully this one will be, too. Have had no problems with it losing suction. It's been up for 6 months and we've had horrendous wind/rain/storms and it's still there! I wonder if the people that have had problems with suction might have had residue or debris on their windows that might have caused it to lose suction? Just a thought. And we've had no problem with the wood falling apart or anything. Solid construction on ours. Hope this helps! :)
