5.0 out of 5 stars Another Solitudes Winner
I have a large collection of Solitudes CD's, and this is one of my favorites. Herberman is, to my mind, the best of the Solitudes composers. (Hennie Bekker is my least favorite.) 1.0 out of 5 stars The Title is Misleading
This CD fails a threshhold test: the title is grossly misleading. It is NOT "Songbirds at Sunrise," but bird song overlaid with human music. I bought it because I wanted birdsong, and was beyond disappointed. If you want birdsong together with elevator music, buy it. I would have given it zero stars but that was not an option.

I never get tired of this CD. It is one of the most peaceful and timeless CD's I have ever heard, with truly beautiful and original compositions.

The sound of chirping birds, combined with relaxing music; it can't be anymore relaxing. It is just the thing when relaxing, sleeping, or just going through the day. Close your eyes and imagine a whole different time and place; it will help relax you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellence!, May 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Songbirds at Sunrise (Audio CD)
I love this Cd... I want to make sure you know that this is not a new age CD... But it's still very relaxing.

I agree whole heartedly with Sue... John Herberman is one of the best composers!

With wood flutes, bass flutes, and regular flutes, clarinets, guitars, oboes, english horns, and Harmonicas, this is one great CD. The Guitars and Harmonicas only apear in track 5.

Some of the birds featured in the CD include...

Wood Thrush
Rose breasted Grosbeak
White Throated Sparrow
Red bellied Woodpecer
Cardinal

I defenintly recomend buying this CD!

This CD has changed my life. It really is a "morning" CD, and I listen to it, along with my two canaries, almost every morning, and we arrive into the day refreshed. This is the only CD I have kept through the years and never tired of -- I wish the musicians would do one for evening...

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a morning song, November 6, 2004

This CD is really good for morning, but I prefer Piano Songbirds, Forest Piano, or Piano Cascades for sleeping. I happen to listen it and found myself waking up still listening to it.

I listen to music while I work as an accountant - it keeps me from becoming too stressed when the numbers don't work. Very calming music - almost like I'm listening to the birds outside on my deck with someone playing light music in the background.

This CD is a wonderful assortment of soothing songs. The first track to the last is extremely peaceful. I listen to it every time I am in our massage chair or have had a bad day and 9 out of 10 times I fall into a tranquil sleep. I do highly recommend this CD. Not to be played too loudly but rather as comforting background music. It brings me to a natural and serene state of mind.
