Sequel almost as good as the first, September 20, 2002
Any fan knows that a greatest hits project never includes all of an artist's truly great songs. This is also the case with Rich Mullins. While his first best of, Songs, includes the cream of the crop, there were still many great songs omitted due to space.
This CD, released two years after his death, seeks to remedy the problem by including 16 more of his best songs. And some of the songs I missed from the first effort are here. "I See You," "Here in America," "Peace," and "Be with You" are examples of these songs. And I simply can't believe that "Growing Young" was overlooked the first time around. This powerful song of repentance is one of my favorites from Rich.
This CD doesn't inspire quite the same "must have" as the original did, however. Some of the songs, while still good, just aren't as classic the ones included on Songs.
Any fan of Rich Mullins, die-hard or casual, will want to get this to complete their collections. While not as good as the first, it's still a great collection that showcases Rich's wonderful work.

Uplifting CD! THE BEST of Rich Mullins, December 3, 1999
I was just missing Rich's music when I happened across this CD in a local bookstore. I was so excited to find this, as it has all my favorite "Rich" songs on it. It made me not miss him so much. His music is powerful and beautiful. The lyrics are biblically based, and make you think. Rich Mullins was one of those rare musicians whose songs have brought so much to other people's lives. This CD is worshipful, rejuvenating, and powerful. Fabulous music from a man who gave us so much! Miss ya like crazy, Rich. Thanks for these "SONGS!"

The Greatest Writer in CCM, March 18, 2003
I prefer Songs (the first greatest hits), but that's not to say that this CD isn't as brilliant. Rich lived a life that mirrored his music. He wasn't in CCM for the money, unlike a lot of artists, and he didn't settle for sounding like everyone else or following the current trends in culture. He made music that was inspired by God, came from his heart, and went directly to Your own. It's a discredit to offer a review, when his music says it all. I miss him...
