Now, I'm not what you'd call a traditional country fan, I'm actually more of a rocker (Disturbed, Nickelback, 3 Days Grace). But, every once in a while a performer comes along and knocks me off my feet. Hunter Hayes is definitely one of those people!

I had the honor of seeing him live in Amana, IA in the summer of 2007 and he stole the entire weekend event for me. With a powerful and fresh voice, he could sing anything and keep me entertained. Also, not to be forgotten, is that he can play multiple instruments. I personally was impressed by his guitar and accordion skills. Unfortunately at the time, both of his cd's for sale (which I bought) were from when he was pre-adolescence, and his voice was very different.

Thankfully, this cd has been released to give me a "fix" for this talented youngster. Through my "online stalking" of the artist, I've found out that he's currently 17 (only!) and when he was 8 he performed the song Jambalaya with Hank Williams, Jr. His web site is quite professional and well structured if you would like more info (just search his name).

Anyway, all of the tracks on this album were amazing. I loved all of them, with special impact coming from "What You Gonna Do When I'm Gone." I smell a radio single with that one. Basically, if you like music and are willing to give something new a shot, try out Hunter Hayes. He's got a really original sound, with something fresh that the world of country has been needing for years now.

I knew Hunter would be big when i heard him live singing cajun and playing his accordian at 6 yrs old, now look at how big he's become. Now, i don't own this anymore but i truly believe this epic cd should be re~released through his new label so everyone can hear how he sounded before "Storm Warning".
