With guitar licks reminiscent of the early Allman Brothers Band, awesome bluesy vocals, and God-inspired lyrics, this recording ranks among my all time favorites. John Everson has hit a home run with this one! Put me on the waiting list for the next recording!

John Called Mark's music moves me. His voice expresses passionate emotion and the album has wonderful dynamics. I highly recommend this one.

If you are looking for something with the sound of Santana or Stevie Ray Vaughn, but filled with Spirit, John Called Mark is it. With hard cutting tunes like Prodigal One, Floatin' Boogie, and Run to Me; Songs From The Basement takes you to a high point not only in spiritual content but also in quality of music. I have yet to find another one equal to it. Listening to the album has sounds from early ZZ Top (pre Eliminator), SRV, Santana, including strong Blues' influences.

No person who likes Blues or Classic Rock should be without "Songs from the Basement". The songs aren't lyrically shallow which is typical of Blues. When you listen to this CD, it just makes you feel great!!

Some of the best blues you will hear. John called Mark ranks with the best! And finally, real blues lyrics that go beyond the mundane and repetitious normal fare.
