For every mexican, chicano, hispanic, latino who grew up in the movement. Im very proud of this cd, my father did all the percussion on track #13. Kudos to the Smithsonian for regocnizing the beautiful and moving music of the chicano movement & for putting out this cd, which will now be in the archives for all generations. My fave tracks are #13 of course, 17,8,14, but the whole cd is good.

This cd is great! There are so many emotions conveyed through music that there is always a track to fit your mood. My favorite song is El Picket Sign. It has a great rhythm and references to Juarez and Zapata make me wish I wasn't such an Anglo!

I am a 70's activist who 'cut his teeth' on the L.A. Moritorium and spent hours on the picket lines of many a Big Bear Market during the Grape Boycott years so I looked forward to this CD's music with great anticipation but was sorely disappointed. Several of the songs sound as if there was a low-grade tape recorder on top of a metal trash can and a group of people were simply singing some songs to pass the time. I am glad I bought it (for sentimental reasons) but it was not what I expected. One exception is the Alacranes Mojado music which is excellent!
