5.0 out of 5 stars The soundtrack is the perfect complement to the show!
This is the best soundtrack I've ever heard, including movie soundtracks.

When I first found out that Dawson's Creek was releasing a soundtrack I was estatic. Finally all my favorite songs from DC compiled on one CD. Boy was I wrong. They totally forgot about all the awesome songs from the first season and even from this one. "Say Goodnight" Beth Nielsen Chapman, "Broken Road" Melodie Crittenden, "I'll Be" Edwin...

This is the best soundtrack I've ever heard, including movie soundtracks.

As fans of the series know, music was always central to Dawson's Creek. It highlighted the emotions, and certain songs will always bring you back to memories of the show.

Each song on the CD has it's own special qualities, they're all good songs, but a few stand-out:

"Kiss Me" exemplifies the innocent romance of the teen years, and Dawson's Creek.

"Feels Like Home" is a beautiful, sweet song that speaks to all fans of the Dawson/Joey coupling.

"Life's a Bitch" is perfectly fitting for Abby Morgan's death, and it's catchy, too!

"Ready For a Fall" is eeriely calm and melancholy, a song that represents Pacey losing Andie.

"London Rain" is a fabulous pop song, which will remind all fans of Dawson building Joey her white picket fence.

"Letting Go" is an original, fun, yet sad song that represents Joey and Dawson's relationship in the second season.

The rest are great, too... and you get the theme song! Who can hear Paula Cole's "I Don't Wanna Wait" without thinking of Dawson's Creek?

Enjoy this CD, and enjoy the memories!

5.0 out of 5 stars Only gets better, February 28, 2004

I remember how I was so excited when this soundtrack first came out- the show had introduced me to so many songs that I loved, yet hadn't been able to track down (pre-internet knowledge), so when I flung it into my stereo and pressed play, I was a little disappointed. No Chantal's "Before You", no Billie Myers kissing the rain, no Jann Arden singing about her "Good Mother", and definitely no Blink 182 telling the world "Dammit".

But I listened anyway. I kept the disc in there, playing it whenever I was hanging around, and a funny thing happened- I loved it. Although there are some stand-out tracks, it was the general feel of the songs, and the way they were put together to make up the album, that really encapsulated the show for me. Now, whenever I want to remember those moments from the show, or want to feel the water at the end of the dock, the grass beneath my feet, and the craziness of emotions, I put this disc in and press play.

My favorite songs became-

"London Rain"- somehow works perfectly as both a vivid reminder of the scene it was played over in the show, and a personal memory of rainy days and hopeful hearts.

"Letting Go"- this song is just divine, I can't help but sing along to its mournful little chorus.

"Stay You"- an infectious, swinging, soulful song.

"Feels Like Home"- Chantal's music just seems like Creek stuff now; it has that whispery, summery, fresh quality to it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good soundtrack!, September 18, 1999

When I heard that the Dawson's Creek soundtrack would be released, I got very excited. I love watching it, specially some characters like Pacey and I've never lost any episode!!! So, as soon as the CD arrived in my country, I bought it. I enjoyed it because there are some good songs, such "I don't want to wait", "Kiss me", "Life's a bitch". But I got a little disappointed because some other excellent songs are missing. Who can forget the episode when Joey and Dawson were dancing in the rain, by the song "Kiss the rain" by Billie Myers? I can't believe this pretty song isn't in the soundtrack. And this is only one example. "You get what you give", "Thubthumping", "Hands", and many others should also had been included. Anyway, I still liked the CD very much!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bitter Sweet Love, May 2, 2000

What a soundtrack! Whoever picked this selection should recieve an award! I hear you say, I don't think it deserves all this praise and, on first listening, you would be right to doubt the praise I bestow upon this CD!

Okay, the Heather Nova track, London Rain is mesmerising as is the Sophie B hawkin's song. Some people are sick of the Paula COle song, not ME! Every time the chorus belts out I find myself singing along and getting all tingly. When I hear this song memories from the show rush through me, especially the ever twisting Dawson/Joey romance! The Curtis Stiger song, excellent!

What I liked about this CD is that the songs mirror the shows theme perfectly, love and how it can hurt, bring joy and ultimately fill the hole everyone has in their life until it comes along.

On the CD, is a good mix of rock, love, bitter-sweet love songs. All should twinge something in each listener as most of the lyrics I can relate to from my own personal experience!

Buy this CD for easy listening or if your just a fan of the show cos it's excellent!

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD is the best CD I have ever gotten!!, September 29, 1999

Dawson's Creek is the perfect CD for anyone who's ever had a bad day b/c of "Life's a B****" and it's the perfect CD for anyone who's ever been in love and for anyone who's ever broken up w/ someone who they really loved. My favorite songs are all of them, but I especially love "did you ever love somebody" and "cry ophelia" and "feels like home" or whatever number three is. Every night the beautiful songs put me to sleep. Every emotion is displayed on this CD. i've had this CD since it was released in the Spring and still listen to it everyday and the variety that it has doesn't make it boring. And as a viewer of the show (i'm so exited the show premier comes on tonite) it displays the show well! I hope ya'll will be watching tonite on the WB!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Notch CD, October 2, 2000
This review is from: Songs From Dawson's Creek [ENHANCED CD] (Audio CD)
Although I've never even seen Dawson's Creek, I came across the soundtrack by chance one day, and I'm so glad I did. I had heard the song, "London Rain," on the radio and loved it, so when I saw it was on the album, I was curious to see what else was on it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I like every song on the album.

Lyrically, I believe these songs are *excellent*. They are threaded with nostalgia, hope, wonderment, a touch of pain and a corresponding sense of wanting safety, security, love, friendship. And yes, a bit of sadness as well. It's a "bittersweet" collection of songs, mellow and reassuring, like a loyal golden retriever.

Favorites are "London Rain," "Crying Ophelia," and "Stay You." Other highlights are the "Feels Like Home" song, and the "Where will you go after me?" song (PJ Olson). And of course, the three hits "Shimmer," "I Don't Wanna Wait," and "Kiss Me," are brilliant. Fans of the song "Soulfully" (which is *not* on the CD), and which I read somewhere was in the show at some point should check out catie curtis' self-titled album.

The only drawback I can think of is that there seem to be a number of other great songs which weren't included. Hopefully, more compilations are on the way. Volume 2 is slated for an October 3, 2000 release, so that's a start.

I honestly like every song on this album. Which is nice, because it means I never have to skip tracks. :)

This is the best soundtrack cd I have ever purchased from a television series! The songs are all great...not one do I not care for, which is not a very common thing to hear or say about any album! You usually find one or two tracks that you don't really like...But this one is absolutely the greatest! You won't be sorry purchasing this one! Especially if you are a fan of the music you hear when you watch this show! It also includes four of the best screensavers for this show! You'll love them! As well as wallpaper like the cover of the cd. A definite MUST for a Dawson's Creek fan!

This CD is wonderful. I love the tune especially from Shooter. It is upbeat and makes you want to dance. I also love featured songs by Sozzi and Adam Cohen and Jessica Simpson. These artists are going to be around for awhile. All in all I loved every song on this Cd. The songs were tastefully collected. promise you that you will not be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars sweet and fun, August 16, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Songs From Dawson's Creek [ENHANCED CD] (Audio CD)
This is one of the few cd's I own that I can listen to all, or almost all, of the songs without feeling a strong desire to reach for the 'skip' button on my cd player. I have frequently found myself wishing for more songs because it seems to be over too quickly. This cd features a variety of musical talent that blends together extremely well to make a harmonious mixture that is both pleasant and fun to listen to.
