5.0 out of 5 stars A Cd Of Magical Fun!
This is a great album to own. Overall, Ghoti Hook did an excellent job in playing with these songs. "Just What I Needed" and "On The Road Again" are two of the greatest covers I've ever heard. The same goes for "Invisible Man" and "Where Is My Mind?" This CD was recommended to me by a friend, and I haven't stopped listening to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Big peice of pooh.
These guys are....aaaahhhhhhhh. I think that they think they're just rock. But they're songs are a big peice of pooh pooh. Oh, but does anyone know if they got signed to atlantic records? Or if they went on tour with the vandals and finished up the warped tour 99?

This is a great album to own. Overall, Ghoti Hook did an excellent job in playing with these songs. "Just What I Needed" and "On The Road Again" are two of the greatest covers I've ever heard. The same goes for "Invisible Man" and "Where Is My Mind?" This CD was recommended to me by a friend, and I haven't stopped listening to it since Day 1. The songs are crisp and new. For another punk CD filled with covers, check out ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES album "Have A Ball". Luv ya, kiddies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh Yeah!, July 22, 1999

What can I say? This CD is just awesome. You gotta hear the guitars on "True Faith", "Acquiesce", and "I See Red". I liked their cover of "Hey Nonny Nonny" by the Violent Femmes. If you Ghoti fans think their CDs are good, you have gotta see them in concert. Props to the boys of Ghoti Hook for this amazing effort.

4.0 out of 5 stars An energetic album full of great covers., February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Songs We Didn't Write (Audio CD)
"Songs We Didn't Write" is an album every band should put out in their career. What's more fun that an album entirely made up of covers, anyway? Nothing, that's what. Well anyway, "Songs We Didn't..." is a good CD, but not as good as "Sumo Surprise." But if you're a fan of MxPx or punk music in general, plunk down your lunch money and buy this CD now.

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is pretty good.....I give it points for effort., November 18, 1998

Sorry Ryan, Banana Man can sit its but down to Ghoti Hook's first album, Sumo Surprise. This cd, however, really caught my ear. The best are Earth Angel (which I can now play on my guitar) and Just What I Needed. Ghoti really picked some good ones to do for this album. I figure, it deserves the 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars based on its Fun Factor (Very High!), July 8, 1999
This review is from: Songs We Didn't Write (Audio CD)
This album is cool, cool, cool! Their cover of Walking on Sunshine Really rocks ON! Earth Angel is funny, and some of the songs just rock So hard that you've gotta love 'em, no matter who wrote 'em; Just what I needed, I Love Rock N Roll, and True Faith are great. This is one worth buying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its exactly what they say it is., July 28, 2007

"Songs we didn't write" from Ghoti Hook is exactly what the title implies, a collection of songs origionally written and preformed by other christian and secular (non christian) artists. In some cases I liked the origional versions better (like the song "Where is my mind" Origionally preformed by the pixies) In other cases I liked the Ghoti Hook versions better (the song "Friends" Origionally preformed by Michael W. Smith) Overall I would say this CD is well worth getting especially if you prefer this style of music.

It is a definite, must buy. It has all the awesome songs that you have heard over the years. But they step it up a notch and put it into punk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes Ears Happy, April 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Songs We Didn't Write (Audio CD)
This has a little something for everyone. It's great fun. It combines classic tunes and lyrics that have endured (for good reason) with the faster pace and harder edge we've come to know and love. I went on a long drive with two friends; we spent the two hours fussing over which CDs to listen to and changing from disc to disc. Then we put in Ghoti Hook and finally everyone was content. The only question was which song to play first. My favorite is Walkin' on Sunshine or Just What I Needed or Earth Angel. Its so hard to choose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Album, November 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Songs We Didn't Write (Audio CD)
Well, this album is great! But what can I say, anything by Ghoti Hook is great! This album is all remakes, so if you don't like cover songs, don't buy it. But just like Banana Man, it's not as good as their first album, Sumo Surprise. But if you like Ghoti Hook, you'll like this album!
