Editorial Reviews

No strangers to working together, Jack, G Love and Donavon Frankenreiter join forces on this special EP. Some Live Songs includes six songs plus one ghost track ('Superhero Brother') performed by G. Love. Tracks 1-5 ('Rodeo Clown', 'Free', 'Heading Home' & 'Mud Football') were recorded on Kelly Slater's radio show K-OS, while track 6 was recorded during the Brushfire tour - Boston, MA, on September 15, 2004 with Zach Gill from Animal Liberation Orchestra. The album is packaged in a stunning digipak. Universal. 2005.

5.0 out of 5 stars It just makes you feel good... August 23, 2005
Format:Audio CD
Not a suprise that when jack, don, and g. love come together with zach gill that a "fun" album will follow. there are more songs from the same sitting on vhi.com and [...]. so hopefully an "unplugged" album will come out soon. zach gill has been around for awhile and has found some difficulty making mainstream with the accordian, but this needs to be considered his "premier" album, frontlining with the likes of the kings of "feel good music." Definately not a disappointment! I only wish there were more, and the whole session was released. Also, I wish I knew when gatherings like this take place, not to be missed niext time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reminds me of the beach October 24, 2005
Format:Audio CD
This is an awesome EP! And while it IS too short, it's also an... EP. So, why's it so good? Every song is smooth, feel good and funky. How could it not be with Jack Johnson, G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter and, the highlight of the album, Zach Gill. When I put it in my CD player pure fun pours out. While all six tracks are great, the highlight is Zach Gill's Girl I Wanna Lay You Down. If there ever was a great make-out song this is it;) My other favorite is Free, written by Donavon, which is just so... free. When I listen to this EP I feel like I'm at the beach on a nice sunny day surfing with my friends and cooking hotdogs over an open fire. Awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars Have to have it January 30, 2007
Format:Audio CD
If you really enjoy Jack and friends for what they are, and the way the music makes you feel...this is a MUST have. If you play(even just a little bit) GREAT CD to jam along with. Nothing fancy, just the roots of all that is good. To call yourself a Jack fan and not enjoy this, I guess you just don't get it .

5.0 out of 5 stars good find March 11, 2006

Format:Audio CD
This a good small live CD. if you like any of the artists featured you will enjoy owning this CD. The seven songs leaves you wanting more every time track seven ends but it is still worth the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome music March 20, 2007
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This CD is a great mix of music. Although a little short, the songs are great to jam to while riding in the car. I especially love the last track-the hidden one is so funny! Gotta check it out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet January 9, 2007
Format:Audio CD
Excellent selection of some of the best from these three friends (and a little Zach Gill, too!). Gives you the feeling you're sneaking into a weekend jam session at Jack's house. Fans of these guys will want to add this CD to their library. Seems to me, though, they could have easily added a few more songs and make this a full length effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Music that never fails you!
Songs were great. There are only a few, but the few on there were spectacularly done. These recordings weren't released on any other LP, so to have these is a treat.
