Caroline's voice is light and lilting....softly carressing your ears with these 9, simply beautiful songs. This is one of those rare cd's that grows and grows on you with each listen. It can't be listened to in pieces, but as an entirety and in repeat mode.
The words are beautiful. The songs are structured around poetry written by Edna St. Vincent Millay. I can't tell you just how perfect I found this cd to be. It's mostly done with accustic guitar...and subtle noises here and there...it's very tender, and heartbreaking parts...like the old Victorian romaces of days gone by...Caroline recorded this over three nights in her home. Many of the tracks were recorded once. Caroline wanted it simple to focus on Millay's beautiful poetry
