A different point of view.,

I agree that the very beginning of the novel is a build up of characters but once I actually got into it I couldn't set it down. It offers an entirely different perspective on organized religion & how it has been effecting modern society and individuals.

It is a rare book that begs to be read. It is even more rare to find a book with characters you can't help but care for. But it is the rarest of books that manages to accomplish this and tell a relevant, thought provoking story. Songs of Galileo accomplishes all three. From a young man's struggles to God's role in our lives, the story is always interesting and smart.

Although it got off to a slow start, by the middle of the book I couldn't put it down. The main character, Angel, pulls you into his life by being a real person, not always in control and not always right, but just like everyone else. I can't wait for Book Two to come out!

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Contrary to what another review said, I didn't feel it was slow getting started, but liked getting to know the characters. The story holds your interest and you want to follow Angel's journey.
It's definitely worth reading.

....and I don't want it to end because I don't yet have the second book to read.
This is a wonderful book. The main character, Angel, is very real. The author has taken a subject bound to create tension and controversy and spun a tale that reaches out and grabs you. You can't stop reading. No matter your beliefs, no matter your age, this book has something for everyone. I believe the message Angel is spreading is real. It's real for our time and our lives. Do Unto. With no qualifications and no waffling. Do Unto Others... |
