Although I'm a TBT fan, this is the only album I never owned. After listening to it for free on Prime, I wish I had had it earlier. Although it's missing the manic energy (and Ryan Young's sizzling fiddle work) that would come in later albums, there are still flashes of what they would become. For the most part, Songs from a Ghost Town features solid bluegrass from a band who haven't quite found their future selves.

TBT is by far one of the best groups I have come across in a while. This album is great to listen to and I would highly suggest it to any fan.

Great album from a great band. An earlier album that sticks to its more traditional bluegrass roots, Trampled by Turtles does not disappoint.

Definitely worth the download. I've now bought all their albums and really can't find one I don't like. Their earlier stuff, like this one, trends more towards a traditional bluegrass sound. I love to hear their older stuff not only because I love more traditional bluegrass, but because it's great to hear them at their rawest and get a clear idea of where they came from. These guys rock on all fronts and Songs from a Ghost Town is another great demonstration of why!
