This is the most recent Michael Ball CD I have and I have been playing it constantly. I had wanted to hear the Brel song, IF YOU GO AWAY. On this CD it is sung in both English and French - very soft and very romantic. ALL BY MYSELF and WALK AWAY are very much the dramatic voice and very passionate. The best part of a Michael Ball song is that he makes each song a performance and really sings the words. The voice gives even familiar songs a different nuance to make them his songs. The songs that were new to me sound as if no other voice could ever sing them. This is the CD for the moods of love.

This CD is a beautiful collection of love songs. I like all different types of music, but after hearing Michael Ball, I must admit that other artists pale in comparison. His voice is lovely and each song he sings absolutely rings with emotion. I have long been a die hard rock music fan, although I enjoy music as a whole. Thanks to PBS for introducing me to Michael in the 10th anniversary of Les Miserables, I have found that I have a new appreciation of music that I would have passed up on and would have missed something very special. Songs Of Love is a magical audio treat that is such a pleasure to enjoy. Pay special attention to Walk Away, my favorite, sung with such feeling, it brings tears to your eyes. Do yourself a favor....light a few candles, sit back with a mellow glass of wine and listen to this true gift of music!

This album makes a great addition to any Michael Ball collection. I was absolutely blown away by "Take My Breath Away"---Michael explores his upper vocal range here, and does it very well. It is one of the most beautiful love songs I have ever heard. The songs range from light and pop-like to slow and intense; there is a wide variety of styles represented. A highly recommended album!

I purchased Songs of Love by Michael Ball and have almost worn it out!! I lost my husband to cancer not so long ago and this man's music has been a salve on this bleeding wound. I also have enjoyed Up Close and Personal for the same reason. At night, when I think my world has come to an end, Michael's songs and his wonderful voice singing them makes things seem not so bad as the words of his music make me remember how good I had it for 37 years.
I wish I could tell him how he has touched me and helped me through this difficult time. Too often, we forget to thank those that do such wonderful things with their God given talents.
Treat yourself to this man's music.

Any thing Michael Ball sings is wonderful. I now own 10 of his CDs. My frustration with Amazon is that you only carry 2 of his DVDs. If you offered more of his DVDs, I would buy all of them!
