2010 two CD collection, the follow up to the original release Songs For Luca released in 2003. It features songs by many artists who have donated the track to raising money for Dave and Debbie's son Luca. Among the artists contributing to this particular release are: Dave and Debbie Bainbridge, Iona, Nick Beggs, Mostly Autumn, Joanne Hogg The Invisible Opera Company of Tibet, Mae McKenna and Moya Brennan All proceeds from this album will go towards helping Dave and Debbie's autistic son Luca overcome the challenges that autism bring to his life using the Son-Rise Programme, (Autism Treatment Centre of America).

This great album is the legacy of infinite parental love : Debbie and Dave Bainbridge ( of Iona fame ) brought together an eclectic bunch of musical allies to produce another gift for their son Luca. The beauty of this benefit gig, though, is that you can practically feel the spiritual dimension of the project as you listen - a sense of the numinous, the divine. Of course, Iona have somehow always managed this - "The Book Of Kells" ( 1992 ) affected me the same way - but to sustain it over two discs and 140 minutes with such a diverse range of guests borders on the miraculous!

Initially I was hesitant about a second fundraiser for Luca; despite the very worthy cause ( to defray the cost of assistance with his autism ), I figured that most collaborative efforts, however well-intentioned, tend to lack cohesion. The vision and concern may be there, but all too often, the results can be mediocre. No such problems here, my friends! Nearly all of the 30 tracks are new recordings, some of them commissioned especially for this album, and that divine spark just shines through like a golden thread running the length of the whole affair. Perhaps the unifying concept of compassion for Luca, and the Christian ideals that many of them share, simply brought out the best in the participants.

And what a crew they are! Moya Brennan ( from Clannad ) leads us in with her celestial syrinx, followed by a Spanish-style guitar piece, then a reworked Iona song; there are contemporary ballads, an Indian number by Aradhna, Japanese prog rock from Kenso, a dulcimer tour-de-force, the sublime acoustic duo of Dave and axeman extraordinaire Phil Keaggy, and a plaintive piano solo by Debbie, a rare treat in itself - and that's just a sampling of the first disc!
