I just wonder. there was not even one comment about this album about this mesterpeice, about this heartstring .just try and understand it , maybe it change your life as it changed mine my favorites are Lover's Grief,Mourners and The Ensemble Of Silence.
all of them mean so much to me. this album is not some regular entertainment. this is a dark and cruel journey into deep places of human mind so listen to the songs carefully and patiently.

I'm not a fan of heavy metal music at all , but this album deeply touch me from the first time i listened to it , it goes through your heart and mind , every time i listen to this album i feel gloomy and i can't even say a word while i listen to .... it really makes you think and puts you in a strange mood you'll not feel it until you listen yourself...it really worth

Due to Amazon's rating system, I can't deduct a half a star, so I'm giving Empyrium the benefit of the doubt. Empyrium is one of those rare acts who actually does post-black neo-folk and dark folk well. This is an incredibly balanced album. Most of the songs involve grief, loneliness, and isolation, and are done in more of a melancholic manner than the typical black metal misanthropic tone.

As with all Empyrium, the structure is amazing. All the ascensions, progressions, acoustic passages, and black metal bombasts are not expert level...they are master level. The final song, The Ensemble of Silence, is one of my favorite songs ever recorded.

And also with all Empyrium albums, Schwadorf's clean vocals suck on a major level. His black metal shrieks aren't really a problem. In fact, those are quite good...but the Germanic "mens choir" sounding clean vocals are, well, quite silly at times. But again, Empyrium is so good in other areas, that I can't in good conscience deduct even a whole star for the terrible vocals. Just half a star

All said, this was my first Empyrium album, and is tied with Where at Night the Wood Grouse Played as my favorite. Great album is you have a high level of desire for musical euphoria as well as a high level of tolerance for bad singing.

empyrium this is your masterpeice. filled with sadness and beuty one can not dscribe. the sound this work of art makes. the instruments were not simply throne in to enhance there music they put some effort and they captured a picture that know one else can make. this album should not be forgot or dismissed this is in my top 10 favorite albums ever made i will simpley leave it at that....................................
