Deluxe edition of his 2009 release comes packaged in a beautiful clamshell box and includes an autographed postcard. 2009 solo album from the leader of Irish boyband Boyzone and successful artist in his own right. Over the space of two days before Christmas 2008, Ronan Keating went into British Grove studios with his band and a live orchestra to record a special solo album entitled Songs For My Mother in memory of his late mother Marie Keating and to also celebrate Mother's Day. Songs For My Mother is a beautiful and evocative collection of songs that Ronan remembers his mum listening to throughout his childhood. All of the songs on the album were carefully selected by Ronan and so have a special place in his heart. Along with traditional Folk songs such as `Wild Mountain Thyme' and `Carrickfergus', the album includes tracks by revered musicians such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Elvis as well as Ronan's version of Joshua Kadison's song `Mama's Arms', a song that helped Ronan through his grieving for his mother Marie. I lost my mother nearly ten years ago and not a day goes by without her crossing my mind. When I heard about this album, I just bought it blindly. Incredible! The album comforts, mourns and celebrates Ronan's mother but is universal has provided me with some comfort. "Mama's Arms" is heartbreaking but captures the feelings of losing a mother. His rendition of "Time After Time" is as good as I have ever heard. Great album and I am glad to have encountered it and the peace it has provided.

I purchased the special boxed edition of this CD and it was just lovely. The 10 songs were well selected, 8 songs that were for Ronan's mother, and 2 that helped him after her death 11 years ago from breast cancer. Carrickfergus, an haunting Irish song is my favorite - Ronan's voice soars on it. I Believe I can Fly and Both Sides Now are also on the top of my list. The renditions are well done. Joshua Kadison's "Mama's Arms" is well done - it fits well with these songs in honor of Ro's mam. The booklet that has wedding and family photos as well as memories of his mother is well done, and it was great to be able to send a special message to my mother in the line notes as well. Great CD - I highly recommend it!

Great songs, clear, pure voice. I enjoy every song on this album. It's touching knowing the reason why the songs were chosen. I enjoy everything Ronan does, but especially this.
