This review is from: Songs Of The Bushmen (MP3 Download)
Harry Shearer is a living legend in the world of satire. It could be that he lives and breathes it; by his own admission, it's the first thing that occurs to him to say in any situation.
He's also an excellent musician and a gifted producer. The songs on this album run the genre gamut, from bluegrass ("Turd Blossom Special") to mariachi ("The Head of Alberto Gonzales"), with a generous portion of jazz, which seems to be Harry's forte. Several jazz styles are represented here. Preview these downloads and hear for yourself.
You may not agree with Harry's political outlook here, but don't be put off if this work seems to disagree with your views. Mr. Shearer is an equal opportunity satirist; he has been making fun of everyone throughout his lifelong career. He started in radio and film at the age of 10, which may explain his tough and blunt stance when it comes to criticizing adults who act like children. His award-winning weekly radio program, "le Show," has been skewering politicians, bureaucrats, and celebrities, and just about anyone else who pretends to be something they're not for 25 years.
