Great for intermediates!,

This review is from: The Best Songs Ever, 7th Edition (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) (Paperback)
This book has a wonderful selection of songs and the music in it is not too difficult. The music is complicated enough to sound good, but easy enough for not-so-talented people such as myself to be able to play it. With piano, guitar, and vocal music it's great for people with various musical backgrounds.

This review is from: The Best Songs Ever, 7th Edition (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) (Paperback)
This collections of over 70 songs includes not only the lyrics, but music for piano and guitar as well. This book has been useful for me several times, such as when needing a song to sing at an audition or for an improvised, non-rehearsed performance. Some of the songs include:All I Ask of You Blue Skies Can You Feel the Love Tonight Climb Ev'ry Mountain Imagine The Lady Is a Tramp Let It Be Love Me Tender Memory My Favorite Things My Funny Valentine Ol' Man River Piano Man The Rainbow Connection Somewhere Out There Star Dust Unchained Melody When I Fall in Love A Whole New World Yesterday This is just a small list because there are a total of 73 songs. A great song book.

This review is from: The Best Songs Ever, 7th Edition (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) (Paperback)
This book is overloaded with broadway tunes. I would like more variety in the selections. Hal threw in a few Beatle tunes for variety. Could use more movie tracks and popular songs outside of the New York circle.
There are a lot of songs in this book that I don't like or don't like enough to want to play them. The book is well made and the music is not terribly difficult. The words, vocal line, and cords are provided along with the piano line. Arrangements are mediocre.

If you want to play like the pianist in a good restaurant, this is for you. The arrangements have a sophisticated sound without being terribly difficult. Most players need maybe five years of lessons/experience to handle them readily. And, usually the book lies flat on the music rack,

Nice Book,

This review is from: The Best Songs Ever, 7th Edition (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) (Paperback)
This is a good book with a lot of good selections of popular songs. However, I wish it was in a ring binder because it is difficult to keep it open. And like one of the other reviewers I would have liked to have seen a few more up to date songs and less Broadway songs. The songs that are in it are enjoyable to play and they do make you sound like a pro which makes me happy as it is so easy for me to NOT sound like a pro. An enjoyable book that I would recommend.

Love the songs in this book. Most are easy arrangements, a few require some practice for the leisure pianist. Definitely recommend it.

Amature Piano Perfect,

This review is from: The Best Songs Ever, 7th Edition (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) (Paperback)
It's a struggle for me to read music. I play piano mostly by ear, mainly for my own entertainment, and use written music to determine the difficult chord progressions. "The Best Songs Ever by Hal Leonard Corporation" provided the easy to read music and the perfect songs within my experience and age group to learn. To help me along I used the book in combination with a basic keyboard chord dictionary for fingering, keyboard diagrams and varying style progressions. I enjoy the learning process much more than I imagined using "The Best Songs..." I plan to learn a song a month for a year. We'll see how that goes. If the above reflects what you'd like, I certainly reccomend this book.
