I'm so loving this album. Siobhan is a pop genius. PULSATRON, BAD BLOOD (which has a wickedly good video)IT'S A TRIP & BITTER PILL (which has been washed & rinsed on a Velvet Underground machine)should be Number Ones in a fair world. Her glam-rock goddess cum Insane Silent Movie Star image is off-the-hook. Keep workin' it, Sister.

Amazing and long overdue album... advanced and evolved on the SS themes and vibes started with the first album, this 4th album fits in line... Works out the electronic sound Siobhan has been laying down and toying with over the past few years.. If you havent been following the progression of SS and Siobhan this collection of songs might catch you off guard (in the best possible way), otherwise you will be ready for the Red Room vibe after becoming familiar with ' 3 ', the third Shakespears Sister album released after much red tape... Either way, there is no mistaking this as a work of Shakespears Sister, wonderful, moody, dark, and sparkely (is that a word?)... I cant stop listening to it.. I hope there is more to come and soon!! Get this one asap! Its a groover and a grower!

SF needs to go back to the 'darker days' of her music.,

This review is from: Songs From The Red Room (MP3 Download)
Wasn't very pleased with this MP3 album download. I liked the 'new' versions of 'Cold,' 'You're Alone,' & 'It's A Trip' - but the rest left me longing for the 'old days' of SF. I long for the days when she sang songs like 'Hello (Turn Your Radio On),' 'Can U Wait That Long?,' 'Do I Scare You?,' etc. This electro dance phase isn't working for me (and she needs to know that you can 'remix' a song too much). Sadly, it doesn't look like there is going to be any change because she has been in this 'phase' for quite a number of years now.
If you are going to buy these songs, save some $$$ and help the environment and simply do an MP3 download of the album. |
