Chris may not be the best singer in the world, but he is easy to listen to and to sing along with, (I'm not the best singer in the world either, so I don't feel to bad singing along. I have kept myself awake driving down the road with his songs for several years!

As Good As It Gets!,
By Austin Dalyai "ATD" (Utah) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Songs of Rodeo Life (Audio Cassette)
Chis LeDoux's debut album has been a mainstay in my Cassette Deck and CD players since I can remember. This album is pure, simply Cowboy Music!1. Copenhagen - This is Chirs' staple song. A short, uptempo Country style song about his love for his addiction. Simple 4 piece instrumentation that needs no further additions. Great song. 2. Rodeo Life - Another uptempo Cowboy song about, well, just what the title says. again, and like most of the album, a simple musical piece, with no frills. Just a tale documenting a man tied to Rodeo. 3. Ain't No Place for a Country Boy - The first LeDoux ballad. Great female backing vocals in this track that tells the story of a Cowboy leaving home to persue his dreams off the ranch. Then, running out of money, and getting homesick, he sells his grandpa's watch for bus fare back home. 4. Bareback Jack - Another song that has been in Chris' shows since the beginning. A tale of a young Cowboy telling everyone he's gonna be famous one day. Then after making his promise good, he gets some tough love advise from his dad to quit foolin' around on those horses before he ends up busted. 5. Colorado - A bluegrass style number about a storm that is ripping through this man's part of Colorado, and taking everything with it as it passes. 6. Riverboat Gambler - An old fashioned style cajun-country song about a Cowboy's parental lineage. A nice littel fiction piece about the man's mom being a girl who worked the dancehalls and a dad who was a Maverick of his day on the riverboats. 7. New Breed - A fast paced lament about the way the New Breed of Cowboys are starting to look. With their funny clothes and expensive brand name boots and hats. Here Chris longs for the day when these men wore their clothes for a purpose, and not just for show. 8. Hometown Cowboy - A tale of the young Cowboy who thinks he'll impress his girl by riding the bulls. And wouldn't you know it, his first time on a bull isn't as easy as he thinks it'll be. Watch out Cowboys, if your not looking, your little lady might just leave with the Cowboy that already knows how to ride. 9. Bull Rider - A great novelty/comedy song about how a bareback rider's buddy enters him into the bull riding competition. Uptempo and full of good laughs. 10. Mountain Wild - Jeremiah Johnson in song. The Country music tale of a young boy hearing the story of a wild man living in the mountains and then finding out he ought to know the man more than he really does. 11. Them Bareback Horses - Here Chris runs through a quick life outline about riding and living the Cowboy's dream, while the times are shifted between good and bad. Then telling about how one day the Cowboy eventually has o grow old and call it quits. Every song on this album is worth repeated listens. Chris' knows how to write great songs, and he can sing the classics like no other. I would recomend this album to anyone, weather they like Country music or not.
