5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Expensive, but Worth it for Konstantine
Truthfully, if you are a Something Corporate fan living anywhere other than Japan- I wouldn't necessarily tell you to go out an buy this CD now. You can access all the songs one other, cheaper CDs. All the songs, that is, except for one. That's right, the infamous "Konstantine". That's all there is to it, really. This may almost be the most gorgeous song ever...

3.0 out of 5 stars no... not really
the people below are saying that this EP is worth it just for 'Konstantine', which is their opinion, but still, Konstantine isn't perfect. It's alright, but overlong and uninteresting in part of it. I like SoCo, but still I think Konstantine is not worth 28 bucks for anyone except hardcore fans (inevitably someone's going to come after me trying to say that Konstantine is...

All the songs, that is, except for one. That's right, the infamous "Konstantine". That's all there is to it, really. This may almost be the most gorgeous song ever written, and if you have yet to hear it- I wouldn't hesitate to say you are missing out on an amazing experience. Beyond beautiful lyrics, breathtaking melodies, it's just perfect in every way. As perfect a song as the relationship that inspired it was flawed.

That being said, if you can find the Drive-Thru Welcome to the Family compilation CD instead, I'd say get it instead of this. It's a lot cheaper and still has that wonderful song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, July 13, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Songs for Silent Movies (Audio CD)
Pretty nice album. The live tracks are great. The acoustic version of "I Want To Save You" doesn't quite live up to the original, but is fun to own. The main reason to get this album is if you are a fan of the band and want a copy of Forget December and Konstatine. Whether you think Konstatine is an amazing song or not, the only album that had it was out of print until the release of this EP. I am a fan of the song and happy to finally get a legal copy of it :)

5.0 out of 5 stars The first star you've ever heard, June 3, 2005

This review is from: Songs for Silent Movies (Audio CD)
The best reason to buy this CD is simple, it's "Konstantine". This song speaks for itself in more ways than I could ever describe. First, would have to be its' incredibly beautiful and inspired piano, courtesy of Andrew McMahon. Second, would be its' timeless and poetic lyrics that couldn't have been supported better by any other band, or any other voice (also courtesy of Andrew McMahon). Finally, would be its' breathtaking melodies that could bring any true musician or fan to their knees. "Konstantine" is perfect in every way, as perfect as each individual's flaws in the inspiring relationship. Any Something Corporate fan would agree. Essentially... only a true fan would feel that not only is it perfect, it is the most gorgeous song ever written.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth it for one song..., April 25, 2005
This review is from: Songs for Silent Movies (Audio CD)
again, stressing the point almost every other person has made, this cd is worth every penny just for one song... yes, knostantine. if you have even head of something corporate, you NEED to hear konstantine. it's possibly the most perfect song i've ever heard (though extremely long). though most of the other songs (with the exception of forget december) are available on other cd's, it's worth what it cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars SoCo is the best!, February 7, 2004

First of all whoever wrote that other review about how bad soco is is a complete idiot. This CD is one of the best! Konstantine is one of the most beautiful songs ever, second ONLY to "cavanaugh park". Buy this CD if you love soco, or if you just started to listen to them. And btw you should also buy Leaving through the window and north.

5.0 out of 5 stars SoCo, all I can say is love at first sight..., April 23, 2004

SoCo has an eclectic mix of rock, and pop/punk along with a beautiful piano which is simply to die for. While I do not personally own this CD, I do in fact have Konstantine on CD from a friend. This song is singularly the most beautiful musical and lyrical masterpiece I have ever heard. While in concert in Columbus Ohio SoCo preformed this song and basically brought me to my knees. It was so powerful. This band will speak to you in a way that you've never heard, they are astonishingly talented.

'North' and 'Leaving through the window' are WONDERFUL CD's and the DVD movie; 'A year in the life...' is also amazing. I highly recommend that you buy all of their CDs and fast!

The first review is sadly mistaken, its too bad that they are too bitter to see how amazing SoCo really is!

Now, stop reading and buy this CD! (You could always get me one too!)

5.0 out of 5 stars this cd is amazing, April 21, 2004
This review is from: Songs for Silent Movies (Audio CD)
Something Corporate has got to be one of the most talented bands I have ever listened to. Their piano based melodies and amazing lyrics set them apart from most pop/punk rock bands you hear these days. This cd is a must-have if you are a Something Corporate fan...Konstantine isn't on any of their regular albums and if you are a fan you have to hear this beautiful song. Also, whether or not you enjoy the regular version of I Want to Save you, the acoustic version is amazing and Andrews voice is so beautiful! Forget December is also one of my favoirte Josh-songs..its very catchy and the lyrics are great. Go buy this cd now!

5.0 out of 5 stars SoCo rocks!, January 8, 2004
This review is from: Songs for Silent Movies (Audio CD)
To the first review, you are so wrong! (Def. disregard that review...) Connections or not...these guys are awesome. Their CD's are great, they are amazing live, they are an awesome band.
If they were that bad, I'm sure they still wouldn't be around. Anyway, check out their new CD 'North'...that one is great too (as well as 'Leaving Through the Window'). And, if you can't get enough of these guys, I'd pick up this cd as well because alone 'Forget December' and "Konstantine' are amazing songs.
