The series is put out by Stanyan Records, and digitized by Laserlight Digitial (Delta Music). Most of these songs were also in movies.

Jo Stafford is a gem. Her voice is clean and pure, and always a delight. George Burns, too, with his gravely baritone and a really nice arrangement, does a classy version of "Ain't Misbehavin'." The Andrews Sisters, with the unmistakable three-part harmonies, are always nice. For most of those years, the Sisters were backed by Vic Shoen and his Orchestra. Vera Lynn was a huge hit in her native Britain, and both men and women loved her singing; her most famous song, "When the Lights Go On Again (Around the World)" is on "Volume 10, Something to Remember You By." Carmen Miranda's version of "Chattanooga Choo-choo" must be heard. (After the war was over, Latin music and rhythms took country by storm; The Andrews Sisters "Rum & Coca-Cola" was released in 1944.) On this album, you also get another Frank Sinatra tune, Peggy Lee, and a couple of tunes by Rod McKuen. A great, solid series of music, and highly recommended for lovers of big band music.
