5.0 out of 5 stars It's Been A Long Time Since I Was Grateful October 21, 2011
Format:Audio CD
I've always loved Everlast. The way he strings words together to tell stories is pretty much unparalleled in the industry and he brings his unique life experiences to his music. This CD is well produced and well thought out. It's so good to have an artist with individuality in these days of manufactured pop (rap) acts that look and sound just like each other. Thank you, Mr. Schrody, for making this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars great theme music for america and the state its in! October 18, 2011
Format:Audio CD
This is a great album if you like good music. Everlast returns with a great soulful set, that reflects the state of america. Im a soldier overseas and see alot of things and what people take for granted. everlast nails it on the head all the problems and what we overlook everyday. Its a nice refreshing change of pace from the same old that comes out all the time and is just filler. Its great that theres an artist who is taking a stand and speaking on the issues of the middle and lower class. Pick up this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars good one October 21, 2011

I've been a fan since Whitey Ford Sings the Blues, and I have all of the other albums too. This one is fantastic, the song production reminds me of White Trash Beautiful, with the heavy beats I've come to expect and even more raspy vocals. What I think sets this album apart is the songwriting, which matches brutal honesty with heavy themes like poverty, loss, regret, and level-headed reflection on life in modern America. The track "I Get By" kills me, it's beautiful and sad with a screw-it mentality that really resonates with me. "Sixty-five Roses" (childspeak for cystic fibrosis) has the kind of stripped-down honesty that has made me a fan of Everlast from his older songs like "Black Coffee," "Lonely Road," "This Kind of Lonely" and "What it's Like." Bottom line, this is a really good album if you're up for a cold drink of reality and ready to hear a B-Boy who's all grown up school you on life. And the beats are pretty good, too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Few good songs
Not his best but good. I really like all of everlasts albums. This was more country than the usual hiphop boogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everlast as usual, very good
Everlast as usual, very good music, good mix of acoustic, country, rock and hip-hop. Lyrics reflects a depressed and desperate America.
