5.0 out of 5 stars a truth-writer..., December 13, 1999
This review is from: Songs for the Unsung: Poems on Unpoetic Realities Like War and Want and Refugees, No 19 (The Risk book series) (Paperback)
cecil rajendra is one of those rare poets who can take the most horrific damaging aspects of human existence - poverty, injustice, pain, greed, colonialism - and make them readable even through the pain.

This is a life-changing book, both if you come, as do I, from just such a so-called developing country as does he (Malaysia), but equally for those who only ever armchair travel.

If you let it soak in, it will make your hair stand on end.
