4.0 out of 5 stars Problems with volume, January 15, 2012

Just a warning, and it's no fault of the product itself, but my experience has been that it's very difficult to listen to the CD in the car as the volume on the vast majority of the selections is very quiet. If you adjust the volume control so you can hear the soft passages, you'll get blasted on the louder parts. Guess this is one CD to enjoy only at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, April 3, 2011

Listening to this music vividly invokes the images from Ken Burns' "The War". It takes you on the same emotional journey as the documentary. Benny Goodman's solo in the Aaron Copeland's "Concerto for Clarinet" is especially poignant.

Wonderful compliation of classical music and a terrific CD, even if you have not seen the documentary.
