Songs with melodies and lyrics so perfect and timeless, they struck me as classics on first listening. In a parallel folkpop universe, Mark Humphreys' name would be uttered in the same breath as The Byrds or Neil Young.

It seemed as if he was a friend and we were sitting on a bar stool discussing life. Tim Cupps lays down a great bass and JM Kaye is a welcome addition. Thanks to LA and Al Martinez (LA TIMES) for introducing me to Mark Humphreys. Tommy Malone San Francisco

Folk based but with a pop edge. Mark knows how to turn a phrase. At his best, he deals in no tears romantic irony. The instrumentation is a bit fussy at times, but doesn't undercut this carefully crafted live set.
