I found this in Sweden in 1995, and it remains one of my favorite CDs. Fabulous songs, faithful to the original story, great singing. Buy it! You won't regret it.

Cliff Richard IS Heathcliff. This CD (also a video filmed on the London stage where the musical played for several months) says in song what Emily Bronte wrote 150 years ago. The cast is excellent. Whether Cathy is portrayed by Olivia Newton-John or Helen Hobson, the duets are marvelous. Tim Rice takes his lyrics from much of the novel, and adds his own particular touch. John Farrar's music genius is evident and obviously he knows what suits Olivia and Cliff.You'll get a better understanding of the character of Heathcliff and the nature of the folks in Yorkshire in the early 1800s if you listen closely to the words. You may not end up loving Heathcliff, but you can't help loving Cliff.

I have been a long time fan of Cliff Richard and this CD is by far the best work he has ever done. Each time I listen to it, the music is trapped in my mind for days. He is Heathcliff, and the songs transport you to the moors of "Wuthering Heights". A number of songs are duets with Olivia Newton-John and she sounds as beautiful as ever. If you're looking for dance music, this is not it! This is music to carry you away to another time, another place. It is one of my all time favorites.

I found the music irresistible. It hooked me right away. And the depth of the sound production stands up to repeated listening.

If one imagines what an album would sound like, if the music was written and produced by John Farrar, lyrics by Tim Rice, and sung by Cliff Richard -- that's exactly what this music sounds like. And it's great.

These are songs written and produced by John Farrar (writer and producer of many of Olivia Newton-John's hits). The melodies, musicianship and sound production are excellent! Cliff Richard sings these songs with great feeling and eloquence. Olivia Newton-John also does a fine job singing on some of the songs.

Many of the songs are upbeat light-rock with aggressive percussion and electric guitars. And the others are sweet ballads, full orchestra on many songs. All of the songs have a rock opera sensibility -- the sort you hear with Jesus Christ Superstar. Tim Rice writes the lyrics for Songs of Heathcliff, and they have appreciable poetry.

Through the years, if you've liked the the Olivia Newton-John songs written and produced by John Farrar (Hopelessly Devoted, Little More Love, Magic), then you will not be the least bit disappointed with Songs from Heathcliff.
