I will try to make this review short, since there are just too many things I like about Sonic Adventure.

First off, I didn't know this game was released for the PC, since it was released in Europe, and not the United States. The U.S. release got the Gamecube port of Director's Cut, which came with a number of framerate issues and various bugs. These bugs seem to have been worked out in the PC version, which makes it ten times more enjoyable to play.

This game will run on just about any PC, since its requirements are quite low. A 1.8 Ghz laptop will do the job flawlessly in high resolution, which is the best Sonic Adventure has ever looked. It's long, but not terribly difficult, and it's fun to play for kids or grown-ups. I'm almost 25 and I still enjoy it to this day. For the price, you simply can't go wrong.

I should explain one other thing. If you have any CD/DVD emulation software installed on your machine (Clone CD, ect.), you may need to uninstall it, as the game has an early form of copy protection that will pick up on such programs and cause the game to not run.

Sonic adventure for the pc is a cool game. This game remind me when I used to this game on Dreamcast. It have the same characters, music, and etc just like the dreamcast version. If you like the Dreamcast version you will like the pc version. I love both of them. GO Sonic!!!!!! The music of game, graphics, and controls make me want to purchase this game. This game is worth the purchase.

A super game! It may be a little old, but it's still great. The graphics are only so-so and the veiwing is kind of choppy, but that's nothing compared to all the good things about the game. Sonic Adventure's plot line is WAY better than some of modern games' cheesy ones. There's always something to do with 7 stories- Sonic's, Tails', Knuckle's, Amy's, Big's, Gamma's, and Super Sonic's, - a terrific chao garden, and a mission mode with 60 missions. The chao gardens are cute, you can always improve your chao, AND it is connected to the plot. The action stages are fun, and in between stages you go through an adventure field, which I think comlements the plot nicely. You unlock the stories as you meet the characters in the plot line. Super Sonic's story is unlocked after you finish the rest of the game. The mission mode is unlocked after you complete all the stories. The missions are kind of hard, but my sisters and I are pretty poor gamers. During gameplay you collect emblems, and every twenty you get a Game Gear Sonic game is unlocked. There are twelve you can unlock, so for the price of one game you actually get thriteen, if you can get all the emblems! When you get all the emblems you unlock Metal Sonic! (He doesn't have a story, though.) I love that this game is on the PC! This is a wonderful video game! BUY IT! X)

I ordered this game almost a year ago and I've tried to play it on my old laptop. I installed it and everything but at the very beginning of the game, after I hit the boss once or twice, the game and my laptop would freeze on me and I had to reboot. After a couple of tries, I decided that the game was broken. That and my laptop was old. I had gotten a new laptop a few months ago and I just installed it during the break (left the game at home). I enjoyed playing this game on the Gamecube so I was ecstatic to play it on the computer. There's a few problems that I have with it. I can't play it on full screen because the game closes out on me for some reason, so I play it on normal view, not a problem. My other problem is the keyboard. It can work with me sometimes and other times, it's a bit of a pain. It has messed me up on some levels. All in all, I am very happy that this game got ported to the PC. The cutscenes are a little fast but I'm good. Everything is the same as it was on the Gamecube version. I sometimes hit the action button when I'm faraway from a Chao and hit it sometimes without meaning to.

Besides the few problems I have with this game, I'm giving it a 4.5 out of 5 score.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOOOOVE it, September 17, 2011
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic Adventure DX - Directors Cut (Video Game)
I must say it's a FUUUUUUN game. I love it! The first time i played it was when I was 4. it just came out on Gamecube and I had to have it. I bought it and played all day. I just fell in love with it. I soon lost the game and haven't played it eversince. Now that its on PC...well im 13 and still adoring it. My only complaint is the PC controls. they can be a tad bit laggy and/or hard. And knowing you can edit the characters and make your own using PVMedit, makes it ten times more lovable than Gamecube. 100 out of 5 stars. no question asked!
P.S. don't use an emulator. that will make the game freeze.

My Son loves it and likes the assorted characters available.
I would definately order other PC version of console games from these guys
as it frees-up my big screen T.V. for moves while keeping him happy.

I don't play this game myself. I bought it for my 8 year old son to play on his Mac (via Windows XP on Parallels). He loves it. He's finished the game already, and he's playing it again. He's always telling me aspects of the game. He really thinks it's a great game

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a truly multiplatform video game that represents Sonic the Hedgehog, November 11, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic Adventure DX - Directors Cut (Video Game)
Well, I am not really ready to write an extensive review here. I seldom bought a PC game. Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes are exceptions, I guess. If you enjoy fast-paced adventure platform game, Sonic Adventure is for you. It debuts since 1998. In 2010, it has been sold in many platforms: Sega Dreamcast, Windows PC, Nintendo GameCube, Xbox 360 and others. But sorry, there is simply no Mac version. Guess what? I don't care because I don't own a Mac. In the official introduction, Sonic Adventure has been introduced as a Windows XP game. It does work with Windows Vista/Windows 7, including the 64 bit versions. For those who get the Windows 7 N editions, you may need to install Media Feature Pack in order to make the game running. It's because Sonic Adventure requires Windows Media Player-related technology in Windows, especially to play sounds. The gaming experience is vastly different from character to character. Don't expect that playing with other character as the main character, Sonic the Hedgehog. They are just different characters, with different gameplays and storylines. There are reasons while you will want play with other characters: you want to unveil the whole story, more importantly, you can only play as `Super Sonic' after finishing the storylines of each character. I've owned this game for years since it is released to Windows XP. I've to say that it is a game that really has a high replay value. After more than five years, I still play it pretty often. Believe me, I still have fun! Sonic Adventure is how a true Sonic game should be. Unfortunately, I don't see the continuation from Sega for years. How good would it be if Sega can release Sonic Adventure 3? By the way, Why Sonic Adventure 2 never makes its way to Windows PC?

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST SONIC GAME EVER ON GAMECUBE NOW FOR PC, September 6, 2010
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic Adventure DX - Directors Cut (Video Game)
This is the best Sonic game ever!!! When you play the game for the first time, the only character you can play as is Sonic. When you meet up with the other characters (Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and an excuse of a Sonic Character "Big the Cat" and even as one of Dr. Robotnic's robots E102 Gamma) you will unlock their story. Sonic's stages are the best out of them all. Tail's stages are similar to Sonic's only they're shorter, easier and they have a racing feeling. Knuckle's stages are very different, more like treasure hunting games. In them, you look for the missing pieces of the Master Emerald. Amy's stages are slow paced, strategy themed games. E102 Gamma's levels are shooting gallery games. Big's stages are the most BORING levels! He fishes for his pet friend, Froggy. The fishing isn't glitchy or anything, you just have to do certain things sometimes before you fish for Froggy. This game is kind of like a RPG game with everything happening at the same time. After you beat one of the characters story, you will unlock Mission Mode that can be played by that character. You can also raise your own chao, these small cute and mysterious creatures. I recommend this game to anyone, especially Sonic fans. If you do not own this game, buy it now!
