Dead, but still alive!,

Blue Meanies is dead. The band separated on May 2002. But this album will remain one of the psychiest ever. Ska? Punk? Core?Prog? Maybe it's all this together, but with a big accent of that ska sound that they give themselves. Kinda circus that have turned to carnage, their lyrics talks about american life, mostly. Not for sweet ears. Even not for Mu330 fans who thinks that if they played together live so many times, they play the same kind of music. Not at all. For all Mr.Bungle,Primus,Naked City, and Aquabats fans.

There are no equals!,

in a world where ska and punk fusion bands continue to sound like jeffries fan club rip-offs, this is the one band which truly stands out. this is the most energetic c.d. i have ever listened to, It's crazy. There is no modern ska/punk/jazz/polka?/metal band that you can even mention in the presence of these musicians. one of my favorite c.d.'s of all time... if i could only remember where I lost it...

Despite the bands breakup, they did play a show late 2004 with Mu330 at the Chicago metro. I had never hear of them or Mu330 when my friends asked me to go to the show, but I do love ska. They were both spectacular. The each have a very different sound but should each be given a chance. Their anthem like "Pave the World" is a great show of how a band can move someone.

Dissapointing,but still THE BLUE MEANIES,
By A Customer

Yeah,I was kinda dissapointed with this album. The blue meanies are a great band but just don't make it on this live album. It is very long and you tend to get kinda tired of listening to song after song when alot of them sound very similar. There are some really great songs, but in a whole it's not that impressive. The blue meanies are a mix of heavy metal, punk, ska, jazz,a little swing, carnival style horn rhythms and there own thing.A really great band, but I suggest you go after their studio albums instead of this live one.
