Well, the samples are cool enough: disco, house, acid, jazz, etc. Here is the downside: You can't save anything (unless you have additional software), maximum playback is around a minute, and the program shuts down automatically at 15 minutes, and you have to start from scratch. What's up with that G?

3.0 out of 5 stars Hey you gotta start somewhere!, January 20, 2000

Acid dj 1.0 is most likely to be a good place to start if you want to learn the basics of mixing and sampling on a computer. The actual loops that came with the software are pretty good, which consist of everything from drums, cymbals, and even turntables. And you can definelty create a good mix, no matter what kind of "techno" you're into..D&B, happy hardcore, trance, house, etc.. The setback of Acid dj is that you can only loop 8 tracks together and it makes it impossible to make a real progessive track. I have only had this software for a short time, and already I think I am ready to move onto Acid dj 2.0 in which you can actually import samples and loops. I also recommend MixMan 2000--it has the turntables built into the software for those of us who dont have a set of Techniques at home! To make this long story short, 1.0 is a place to start.
